scosability challenge
To celebrate this year's Beijing Olympics scosa recently held its very own scosability challenge
In keeping with the Olympic traditions, clients with disabilities from each of our Hubs (located throughout South Australia) came together in the spirit of fun, friendship and competition on Friday 2 May at the MARS Sporting Complex at Marden for a day of fun sports and activities.
Clients had a fantastic time and the name says it all. It was all about focusing on our clients abilities not their disabilities and that's what this day was designed to celebrate.
And celebrate they did! Clients made mascots, flags and came dressed in their team colours ready for the big event. The MARS stadium was soon filled with excitement as teams competed in 7 sports over the day to gain points for the challenge.
The challenge included volleyball, table cricket, carpet bowls, shot put, frisbee, bocce and running races and the winning team took home the scosability torch in recognition of their achievement.
Due to the immense success of this first 'challenge' we are now looking at hosting this event annually!
If you would like to help support scosa by either volunteering or making a donation towards our next scosability challenge please call (08) 8347 2664 or email info@scosa.com.au

National Cerebral Palsy Week
3-9 August 2008
National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week is held annually during August and is a time to reflect on the achievements and celebrate the abilities of people with disabilities.
CP Week (3-9 August) helps create greater awareness of the difficulties faced by children, adults and families living with CP through community and fundraising activities.
Fasta Pasta are supporting this great cause here in SA this year by placing our fun orange donation balls in each of their restaurants for CP Week (3-9 August) to assist us in raising funds to help support people with disabilities in our state.
We are also celebrating CP Week with our annual Soccer Showdown being held on Friday 8th August. This is where two teams of clients come together to battle head to head for the 2008 indoor soccer championship.
Some team players from the Adelaide United Football Club will also join our clients on the day in a goal kicking competition which is sure to be lots of fun!!
You too can help celebrate CP Week by visiting any Fasta Pasta restaurant during 3-9 August to make a donation in one of our bright orange donation balls or make an on-line donation by clicking the Donate Now button at the top of this page.
Thank you for your support!
