School Holiday Programme

 

Our School Holiday Program operates each public school term break and three weeks during the summer break. Young people aged 13-17 years engage in fun activities, carefully designed and structured to engage each participant in building relationships, accessing the community and experiencing new and exciting leisure pursuits. We offer adventure, fun and plenty of challenge to ensure every day is a 'blast' for everyone involved.

Activities

Recent program activities have included cooking, games arts and crafts and excursions to Gorge Wildlife Park, the SA Museum and Ten Pin Bowling. We even have sailing and of course the ever popular disco to conclude activities.

Transport

We have a fleet of access vehicles used to transport participants to and from community activities throughout their day.

Our Team

Lead by experienced Developmental Educators our School Holiday Team consists of experienced professionals who are specially trained to support young people living with disabilities and their families. Each staff member is highly qualified with a minimum qualification of Certificate III in Disability. scosa continues to provide professional development and training to all staff ensuring the highest possible service is delivered. Training includes but is not limited to:

• Child Safe Environment
• Manual Handling
• Health Care
• Defensive Driver Training
• Senior First Aid
• Person Centred Active Support
• Non-violent crisis intervention
• Key Word Signing

 

Referrals

Referrals to our School Holiday Programme can be made through Disability Services, school or self referral. We will then work with you and, your case worker, your family/carer or advocate, your school and/or others to ensure the best possible services are negotiated based on your individual needs and support requirements.

Host agency for Self Managed Funding

scosa is proud to be registered as a 'Host Agency' for Self Managed Funding. If  you have an agreement with the Department for Families and Communities to manage your own funding but require the services of a host agency to assist, scosa can provide these services.
